Author Interview with T. Michelle Nelson + Giveaway

Hi Michelle, first of all, could you tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi Patrick, thanks for having me.  I’m the author of Life and Death of Lily Drake, a mom, a wife and I work full-time.
What do you think makes your genre special?
What I love about paranormal romance is typically the novels are set in a normal world with these fantastic supernatural elements.  They also tend to cross genres into science-fiction or horror.

What do you think makes a great story?
Personally, I love a good character-driven story.  It doesn’t matter what the genre, if I can love/hate/relate to the characters, then count me in.  I’ll give you a great example.  My mom watches the tv show “The Walking Dead.”  I’ve never known her to watch even the first zombie movie, but each week after the show, we would talk about the drama unfolding with the characters.
What is your latest book called and could you explain to us in 20 words what it is about?
Life and Death of Lily Drake.  It’s the story of a woman who discovers the world of vampires - she fights some, and dates others.
Which kind of reader do you think will enjoy your book?
Anyone who loves a story with a strong female character.
Is it a Standalone, or part of the series? If it is the latter, how long do you think will it go on?
It is the first book in a series.  I don’t plan on writing Lily Drake forever, but I expect a few more books for her.  However long it takes to tell her story.
What influenced or inspired you writing it?
I think the fact that I hadn’t ever read a novel with a main character like me.  The heroines always tend to be really young.  Lily is 35 and has a child.
Why did you choose especially this title? Was it your first choice?
Absolutely not.  There was a slew of bad and cheesy titles before this one.
What was the hardest part for you working on your book?
The writing part was easy.  The book flowed.  The editing part, not so much fun.
Was there a scene that you didn’t add or remove in your finished work?
Actually no.  The finished novel is very close to the original work.  Some things were added, but none were removed.
Do you already know what to do next?
I’m currently working on the second installment of Lily Drake.  She’s got herself in quite a mess again.
Where can we find more about you and your books?
You can find me at www.tmichellenelson.com, I’m also on facebook and twitter as @tmichellenelson, and more info on Life and Death of Lily Drake can be found at www.inkspellpublishing.com.
Any last words?
Thank you so much for having me.  I’ve had so much fun with this interview.  I hope you and your readers will stop by my website and say hello!

Life and Death of Lily Drake

Lily Drake is your everyday hard-working single mom…until a gorgeous vampire shows up on her front door who she mistakenly assumes is her blind date for the evening. As one crazy scenario after another unfolds, Lily finds herself falling in love with two vampires, slaying the evil ones, and being prophesied as the savior of the entire undead race.
Deciding between pizza and Chinese take-out will no longer be one of the hard decisions facing Lily Drake once she is immersed into vampire society. Humanity or immortality? That doesn't hold a candle against this question - which of the two handsome vampire cousins?
The Life and Death of Lily Drake is not your typical vampire love story. It’s a tale about the humorous mistakes a woman makes simply trying to survive not only life, but the dating scene.  How will Lily manage working full-time, taking care of her young son and fighting the undead at every turn?
Lily will have to figure it out, but who better to save the world than a mom?
