The year nears its ending
and I use the chance to look forward. The next year of movies looks as exciting as every year
and most of them will disappoint the audience with their brilliantly made trailer
and marketing efforts for obvious facts like a bad storyline.
But what movies are worth to keep an eye on? Here is my list for 2014:
I, Frankenstein - January, 24
200 years after his shocking creation, Dr. Frankenstein's creature,
Adam, still walks the earth. But when he finds himself in the middle of a
war over the fate of humanity, Adam discovers he holds the key that
could destroy humankind.
Lego The Movie - February, 7
The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary,
rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly
identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the
world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to
stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and
hilariously under prepared.
300 -Rise of An Empire - March, 7
Explores the story of 300 from the battle at sea between Themistocles and Xerxes' Naval Commander, Artemesia.
Need for Speed - March 14
The story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country race against
time—one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of
redemption.
Divergent - March, 21
An adventure set in a future world where people are divided into
distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior (Shailene
Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one
group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she
must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too
late.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - April, 4
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s
Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain
America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the
modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack,
Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the
world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America
struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off
professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full
scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black
Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find
themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter
Soldier.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro - May, 2
With the emergence of Electro, Spider-Man must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter Parker comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
X-Men: Days of the Future Past - May, 23
The story is partially set in an alternate future where surviving
mutants have been penned in concentration camps, giant robots called
Sentinels patrol America, and most of the X-Men have been hunted and
killed. In the present day, the X-Men were forced to stop a key event
from unfolding in order to keep that future from occurring.
